On Saturday, February 25, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Massachusetts State Police Museum & Learning Center suffered a two-alarm fire battled by Grafton Fire Department.
Heavy smoke and soot damage was sustained to the entire second floor of it building. Minimal water damage occurred inside its first-floor exhibit halls.
Due to Grafton Fire Department's exceptional work the fire was contained and restricted to the second floor conference room, which resulted in water damage to the artifacts being kept to a minimum.
WHY WE NEED YOU:
As a result of the smoke, water and heat exposure, all of the walls, ceilings, windows, and doors will need to be replaced.
While the building in Grafton, MA was up to code, to restore it to the standards required today the cost is high for a tiny volunteer-based nonprofit.
Please help us safeguard the rich history of the Massachusetts State Police. Every bit helps, and as per IRS guidelines a certain percentage is tax deductible.
